Ya'll know about my stupid worthless mac server right? Well now it is being even more moronic. If you browse to the server in the chooser or finder (depending on your OS version) it won't let you connect but if you just type in the IP address it works fine. I am fairly certain this is an AppleTalk issue of some sort. The lone comment I can find on it is someone hypothesizing that I have AppleTalk enabled in one spot but not another. Not so. It is enabled in two places... because in all really easy operating systems you should have to use two completely distinct interfaces to activate a network protocol right? It's best if one is called System Preferences, and the other Server Settings. Because both seem like places you would intuitively look for AppleTalk settings. GRRR!

Anyhow.. anybody got any clues? The users are threatening to eat me or something.

Got back from supercon. I had a great time. We just set up a hospital tank for one of the angel fish. he has little things growing out of him everywhere. It isn't so cool. He's been moved into the bathroom in a bare 10 gallon tank on his own. We figure it is better not to stress the other fish with medication they don't need, not to mention if the parasites or whatever kill him, they shouldn't kill all the others. Or at least one can hope.

>GIVEAWAY: Here's a chance to own a bit history -- chads & all. Officials of Hillsborough County, Florida, are giving away 140,000 unused punch-card ballots from the 2000 election. They're free -- but there's a catch. You'll have to go to the Tampa area today or tomorrow to pick them up. Of course, it was the Florida ballot controversy that sent the 2000 election results to the U.S. Supreme Court.
